Postcards is out!!!2/28/2020 I am very excited to announce that "Postcards From Waupaca" has been released and is now available on Amazon! I should have signed copies by the end of March and will also be bringing copies of both "Postcards From Waupaca" and "Whistling Past the Veil" to the Region 8 Competition in South Dakota (in the Sales Area) April 2-5, 2020. Those who know me will recognize the characters in these stories, many of them based on actual family tales. Waupaca, Wisconsin was where my mother spent summers with her family when she was a girl. The summer before she passed away, we brought her to Waupaca and she regaled us with happy childhood memories, pointing out all the places she remembered so vividly from years before. The stories cover a wide range (and of course, since it's me, there are still a few supernatural/stranger tales included!) but each one is unique. A postcard from my heart, to yours. To Marilyn Kitchel: "This book is dedicated to Aunt Marny and a very special pair of sisters, sitting by a lake, long ago, on a soft summer’s evening. My heart lives there with you…" The story "Battlefield" was inspired by my good friend (and workout buddy!) Shannon Becker and her courageous battle against breast cancer. It is also dedicated to all my warrior friends who are fighting and winning their own battles every day. To Chuck Herting, as always, my best friend and forever love. The stories in Postcards From Waupaca are eclectic, ranging from heartwarming and nostalgic to thought-provoking and speculative. They could easily be enjoyed by a beach on a lazy summer’s day, during the holiday season to capture the Christmas spirit or sitting by a roaring fire on that infamous “dark and stormy night.” Waupaca is more than just a place, it’s a feeling. A destination that lives in the deepest corners of your heart. Come and heed the call of the lake with these memorable and enchanting tales. Please consider adding "Postcards" to your summer reading list, as a holiday gift or anytime you need a brief respite at the lake! Waupaca will always be there...
